AB 1407 (Chapter 415, 2015, Family Code section 6347) allows a court to issue an order directing a wireless telephone service provider to transfer the billing responsibility and rights to a wireless telephone number to a requesting party who is also seeking a restraining order for domestic violence. After the transfer, the requesting party assumes all financial responsibility for the transferred number, monthly service costs, and costs for any mobile device associated with the wireless telephone number.
In order to make use of this law, the requesting party must serve the court’s order on their wireless service provider. Please refer to the list below for the submission of your order.
