Driving Directions
There are five different major roadways that flow into downtown Sacramento:
- I–5 (Interstate 5)
- I–80 (Interstate 80)
- CA–99 (Highway 99)
- I–80–BR ("Business Route 80," also called the "Capitol City Freeway")
- US–50 (United States Highway 50, also called the "El Dorado Freeway")
From the North/Northwest (Woodland, Redding):
- Take I–5 South into downtown Sacramento.
- Take the Q Street exit.
- Turn left on 11th Street.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
From the Northeast (Auburn, Truckee):
- Take I–80-Business Route West into downtown Sacramento.
- Take the P Street exit.
- Turn right on 11th Street.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
From the East (Placerville, El Dorado Hills):
- Take US–50 West to the CA-99/US–50/I–80/I–80–BR interchange in downtown Sacramento.
- At the interchange, do not take any off–ramps and continue on I–80–Business Route West.
- Take the 16th Street exit and veer right onto 16th Street.
- Turn left onto P Street.
- Turn right on 11th Street.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
From the South, Interstate 5 (Los Angeles, Stockton):
- Take I–5 North into downtown Sacramento.
- Take the Q Street exit.
- Turn left on 11th Street.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
From the South, Highway 99 (Fresno, Modesto, Elk Grove):
- Take CA–99 North to the CA–99/US–50/I–80/I–80–BR interchange.
- Take San Francisco exit onto I–80–Business Route West.
- Take the 16th Street exit and veer right onto 16th Street.
- Turn left onto P Street.
- Turn right on 11th Street.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
From the West/Southwest (San Francisco, Vacaville, Davis):
- Take I–80 East (continuing on I–80–Business Route East) to the I–5/I–80–BR interchange.
- Take the I–5 North off-ramp, and after it veers left to connect with I–5, take the Q Street exit.
- Turn left on 11th Street.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
Via Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail (Meadowview [Blue Line] or Folsom [Gold Line]):
- Take either line (Blue or Gold) into downtown Sacramento.
- Exit at the Archives Plaza stop.
- Arrive at 1500 11th Street, at the corner of 11th and O Streets.
