Fourth Apostille Pop-Up Event by California Secretary of State Serves Hundreds in San Diego

San Diego, Calif. – The California Secretary of State's office is proud to announce the successful completion of its latest Apostille Pop-Up Shop event, held in San Diego on May 13 and 14. This successful event, part of the nation’s first series of apostille pop-up events, saw a remarkable turnout, with Secretary of State staff serving 441 customers and issuing 918 apostilles on the first day alone.

Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., expresses sincere gratitude to San Diego County and County Clerk Jordan Marks for providing the space and support for this significant event. The collaboration has ensured that residents of San Diego have greater access to essential services.

"This kind of apostille pop-up event is a first in the nation and marks our fourth pop-up event in California," said Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D. "We are committed to making our services more accessible to all California residents, and this event is a testament to that commitment."

The innovative apostille pop-up events underscore the Secretary of State’s mission to provide accessible, efficient, and customer-friendly services to the people of California. Shannon Delgado, Business Programs Division Assistant Chief and creator of the Apostille Pop-Up Shop, emphasized the importance of accessibility in delivering public services:

"We are constantly looking for new ways to bring our services to Californians. The Apostille Pop-Up Shop events allow us to do just that by partnering with different counties throughout the State. We are extremely excited to bring these critical services to different parts of the state in an effort to make them more convenient and accessible for our customers."

Igor Khalitov, a resident of San Diego who attended the event, shared his positive experience: "I came to get an apostille for my power of attorney documents and I am so grateful. I want to say thank you. It was very convenient and saved me almost a day. It was very well organized and the staff were very friendly."

The Secretary of State's office has organized similar events across the state and is pleased to announce upcoming Apostille Pop-Up Shop events in Orange County on May 29, 2024, and Riverside County on June 18, 2024.
