Candidate Filing Deadline Extended in Congressional and Legislative Districts Where No Eligible Incumbent Has Filed
 

SACRAMENTO, CA – State law provides that the candidate filing period for congressional and state legislative races extends if an eligible incumbent does not file to run for re-election.

California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D. announced today that the candidate filing period had been extended to close of business on Dec. 13, 2023, for the districts found here https://elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov/ccrov/2023/december/23146kl.pdf

On Dec. 28, 2023, the Secretary of State’s office will release the Certified List of Candidates.
