California Secretary of State Releases July 16, 2021 Report of Registration
SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D. released the latest Report of Registration which reflects data as of July 16, 2021. Ahead of the September 14, 2021 Gubernatorial Recall, 22,078,290 Californians are registered to vote, which is 88.90 percent of eligible Californians. This is an increase in voter registration of 13.9 percent compared to the 75.81 percent of voters registered by the last 60-Day Report of Registration before the last gubernatorial election in 2018.
“Clearly Californians are invested in the health of our democracy,” Secretary Weber said. “In addition to record voter turnout in recent elections, we have seen an increase of nearly 3 million registered voters since 2018, part of a steady upward trend in recent years.”
“To avoid surprises, voters should confirm that their voter registration is up-to-date — including address, political party, and vote-by-mail preference at registertovote.ca.gov. Voters have until August 30th to register to vote, but you can still register “conditionally” at your county elections office or polling location after the voter registration deadline, up to and including Election Day.”
The Report of Registration is a compilation of voter registration numbers reported by California’s 58 county elections offices. Click here to view the complete July 16, 2021 Report of Registration.
