Secretary of State Garners International Merit Award for eForms Online Innovation
SACRAMENTO, CA – On May 12, 2021, California Secretary of State’s Business Programs Division received the 2021 Merit Award from the International Association of Commercial Administrators (IACA) for its new eForms Online application.
Betsy Bogart, the Secretary of State’s Business Programs Chief, and Alex Ting, the Business Programs Automation Manager, accepted the award at the IACA Annual Conference held virtually May 12-14, 2021. eForms Online utilizes the SimpliGov, LLC platform and allows businesses to submit their PDF filings online rather than in person or sending their documents via mail. With these online innovations, Secretary of State continues to make it easier to do business in California.
“I am extremely proud of this recognition,” said California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber. “During the pandemic, eForms Online has created a faster and safer submission alternative for businesses.”
Each year, IACA encourages member jurisdictions to share their innovative products or services. A panel of IACA experts evaluate each submission based on effectiveness, originality, significance and transferability, and lessons learned.
