Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Visit Cal Poly to Honor Campus as 2018 College Ballot Bowl Winners
SAN LUIS OBISPO – California Secretary of State Alex Padilla will be visiting Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to honor the campus for winning the first statewide California University and College Ballot Bowl.
Cal Poly students and administrators worked to register 3,178 students for the 2018 California Ballot Bowl—the most of any participating campus. Campus leadership will be presented with a trophy for their victory.
Background: The Ballot Bowl was developed by the California Students Vote Project, a project directed by the California Secretary of State, in partnership with the California Lieutenant Governor and a coalition of nonprofit organizations. The CSVP aims to increase civic engagement and voter participation among California university and college students.
