Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Lead Conversation on Equity, Inclusion, and Justice at Obama Foundation’s MBK Rising! gathering in Oakland
OAKLAND – California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, together with Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, will lead a session at the Obama Foundation's My Brother’s Keeper’s Alliance first national convening in Oakland on Tuesday, February 19th. The theme of the session is "California for All: changing systems to advance equity, inclusion, and justice".
Please note that this session is closed to press, but Secretary Padilla will be available to discuss his participation and observations from MBK Rising! after the conversation.
All MBK Rising! main stage sessions—including President Obama's town hall with Stephen Curry—will be livestreamed at obama.org. Click here for more information.
MBK Rising! will bring together hundreds of young men of color and leaders from organizations in the growing network of MBK Communities to connect, learn, and share. They will join President Obama in celebrating the achievements of organizations and communities leading the way in reducing youth violence, growing impactful mentorship programs, and improving life outcomes for boys and young men of color.
