Secretary of State Alex Padilla Statement on the Passing of John Mack
SACRAMENTO -Today Secretary of State Alex Padilla issued the following statement on the passing of Los Angeles civic leader John Mack.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of John Mack. During my time as a member of the Los Angeles City Council — and especially during my time as Council President — I regularly sought John’s counsel on public safety issues, civil rights issues, and all the pressing issues in Los Angeles. His perspective and his voice was always one of honesty, integrity, and sage wisdom. The City of Los Angeles and the State of California benefited tremendously from his service and his strong moral compass. While we will all miss him greatly, his example endures.”
