Secretary of State Alex Padilla Certifies Candidates for Special Primary Elections in Assembly Districts 39, 45, 54

SACRAMENTO – Secretary of State Alex Padilla today certified the list of candidates who will appear on the April 3, 2018 Special Primary Election ballots for Assembly Districts 39, 45, and 54.

In a special primary, if one candidate receives a majority of the votes cast (at least 50 percent plus one), no additional election is necessary.  If no candidate receives a majority of the votes, a runoff election will be consolidated with the June 5, 2018 Statewide Direct Primary Election. The runoff will feature the two candidates who received the most votes in the primary, regardless of party preference.
