Secretary of State Alex Padilla Statement on the Passing of Former Secretary of State March Fong Eu

SACRAMENTO – California Secretary of State Alex Padilla released the following statement regarding the passing of former Secretary of State March Fong Eu. 

"Angela and I, and the entire Secretary of State family, are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Secretary of State March Fong Eu. She was a true trailblazer, from being the first Asian-American woman elected to the state legislature to serving nearly 20 years as California's first female Secretary of State. She was a champion for transparency and increasing voter access to registration and the ballot box. I am proud to build upon her legacy."

March Fong Eu served as California Secretary of State from January 6, 1975 to February 17, 1994.
