Secretary of State Alex Padilla Responds to the Ouster of Extremist Steve Bannon

SACRAMENTO – California Secretary of State Alex Padilla released the following statement in response to the firing of Steve Bannon as the White House chief strategist: 

“While Steve Bannon’s departure from the White House is a positive development, it does nothing to change the views and divisive tendencies of Mr. Trump and other aides including Stephen Miller. Trump’s unhinged behavior this past week laid bare his bigoted views. With his failure to condemn the violence and ideology of Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville he has failed perhaps the most important test of leadership. It is too late to right the ship, Trump has already hit the rocks.”
