Secretary of State Alex Padilla Kicks off National Voter Registration Day in Los Angeles and Orange County Tomorrow
LOS ANGELES – Secretary of State Alex Padilla will kick off National Voter Registration Day tomorrow September 27, 2016 with events in Los Angeles and Orange County.
Need to register to vote? Californians can register online at: http://registertovote.ca.gov/
October 24, 2016 is the deadline to register to vote in the November 8 General Election.
Voter Registration Drive at Francis Polytechnic High School
Students will register their peers to vote and hand out election materials as part of National Voter Registration Day and California’s High School Voter Education Weeks. This student led voter registration drive is part of the LA Youth Vote project.

Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Voter Registration Event
The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk will host a special National Voter Registration Day event to raise awareness of voter registration. There will be various local community partners in attendance as well as radio station talent J Cruz and Krystal Bee from Power 106 and Piolin of Super Estrella 107.1. There will also be food trucks, giveaways, voter registration information and important election materials.

CSU Fullerton Voter Registration Drive
Secretary of State Padilla will visit California State University Fullerton as the campus partners with the Orange County Registrar of Voters office to host a voter registration drive including a concert by local band Ceasefire.
In the 2014 General Election, only 52% of eligible California youth were registered to vote, which was more than 20 points below any other age group, and only 8% of eligible youth aged 18-24 voted.
