Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Announce Partnership with California Community Colleges
Secretary of State Alex Padilla will deliver a presentation to the California Community Colleges Board of Governor’s meeting at Woodland Community College on Monday September 19, 2016. At this meeting, Secretary Padilla will discuss a new partnership with the California Community Colleges to increase student voter registration and turnout at its campuses across the state.
In 2014 only 8% of eligible youth aged 18-24 voted in the general election and only 52% of eligible youth were even registered to vote, which is more than 20 points below any other age group.
